Salter Labs Hybrid CPAP Mask - Full Face
It's true you can't please all the people all the time, but the Hybrid CPAP Full Face Mask from Salter Labs comes pretty close. This CPAP mask is designed for the treatment of respiratory insufficiencies such as obstructive sleep apnea. An innovative hybrid design allows this mask to function as a combination of serving as a nasal interface and oral. As the hybrid is a dual airway interface, it comes with three sizes of nasal pillows and oral cushions to ensure the right fit.
Emphasis on Comfort
CPAP users who experience painful pressure or sores with traditional nasal masks can rejoice: The Salter Labs Hybrid complete system CPAP mask is smartly constructed to eliminate contact with the bridge of the nose and eliminates pressure points.
The included headgear has five adjustable points, guaranteeing a custom fit. Chin support is provided by a built-in chin flap instead of an intrusive chin strap. This design of the hybrid mask means it can also be used while wearing eyeglasses, leaving you free to read or watch TV as you prepare for bed, as it does not have a forehead strap. This helps to relieve pressure points on the forehead and across the bridge of the nose as the mask cushion does not cover this area.

Cool full face design that uses a different design on the nasal piece. It goes in your nose instead of over, which is great for me since I would get irritated on the bridge of my nose. With some adjustment, the mask forms a good seal without causing any discomfort. I'm a very big fan of this, and it's much better than the masks I've used before.
Headgear isn't really anything to write home about, but it's good enough. The material can get a little hot but I'm able to sleep fine, so not really a negative.
I’ve always used a nasal pillow design as those were comfortable and kept my nose from getting irritated. However, I would always have some issues during allergy season or when I had a cold, when I would switch to mostly breathing through my mouth. Full face masks had the irritation issue I mentioned but I found this Hybrid which uses a nasal design with a mouth covering component too. This design is ingenious and has helped me a lot when I have congestion, letting me breathe freely without causing any irritation.
As mentioned, this design was the primary reason I chose the mask. It’s excellent, holding tight against my nose and mouth and delivering air cleanly. Leaks are minimal. Potential buyers of any kind of mask design should be able to find something to like in this. There’s no quick release feature on the tube feed like newer masks have, so that’s one downside. You’ll have to manually loosen the straps.
As for the headgear/straps, it’s fine. This is a pretty old mask so no fancy quick-release clips or magnets. You’ll have to manually loosen it which also means you have to tighten them each time you put it on. The straps are fine to adjust and the material is fine. It’s nothing to rave about but it doesn’t impede my sleep.
Overall, this is a fine mask. It has a very nice cushion design which makes it worth the price. Helped me with sleep when I have nasal congestion, but I think a wide variety of customers will like the design.
This is the only one that have really worked. I have used this for the last three years. Finally found something that do not leak, and I am a side sleeper that moves a lot during the night.
Will highly recommend. Also recommend use an 8 feet air supply hose, so that you will have more room to move.
