The ResMed S9 H5i Heated Humidifier reduces nasal congestion, prevents dry mouth and throat, and enhances the overall comfort of CPAP therapy to give you a better night's sleep. Compatible with all ResMed S9 CPAP, APAP,  and BiPAP/VPAP devices, this humidifier is a great addition to your S9 machine and is especially recommended for users in colder and drier climates. 

Climate Control
The S9 H5i Heated Humidifier comes equipped with ResMed's intelligent Climate Control technology which ensures optimal humidity and temperature under all operating conditions. Built-in sensors monitor the ambient temperature and humidity to automatically adjust the humidity and temperature output for comfort. When used with the optional S9 ClimateLineAir Heated Tubing, the humidifier prevents "rainout" or excess condensation within the tube. Integrated temperature sensors inside the ClimateLineAir Heated Tubing maintain a consistent air temperature along thr entire length of the tube, eliminating the risk of rainout that can cause pressure variations and negatively affect your sleep apnea therapy. 

Dishwasher Safe Water Tub
The ResMed S9 H5i Cleanable Water Tub can be easily disassembled for cleaning and is top rack dishwasher-safe. It can also be hand washed with warm water and mild soap. Allow all parts of the water chamber to air dry away from direct sunlight after cleaning. We recommended cleaning the water tub at least once a week and replacing it every 6 to 12 months for optimal performance.

Preheat Feature
The ResMed S9 H5i Humidifier comes with a new preheat feature that allows you to warm up the humidifier to your preferred temperature before starting CPAP therapy for maximum comfort.To start warming up your S9 humidifier, navigate to the humidity icon from the home screen. Push and hold the dial for 3 seconds until you see the warm up status bar appear on screen. You can stop the preheat feature at any time by pushing and holding the dial for at least 3 seconds.

What are the benefits of having humidification with your CPAP machine?
Using a humidifier with your CPAP machine helps reduce common CPAP side effects such as dry nose, mouth and/or throat that can make therapy uncomfortable and hard to tolerate. A humidifier adds moisture to the air delivered by the machine and is especially recommended for users who live in colder and drier climates.

How do I confirm whether my H5i humidifier is working properly?
To confirm whether your H5i humidifier is functioning properly, complete the following steps:

1. Disconnect the tubing and remove the water tub.
2. Place your hand on the heater plate to assess the temperature of the H5i heater plate. DO NOT place your hand on the heater plate if the H5i has been running within the last 10 minutes—it could still be hot.
3. Set the humidifier output to 6.
4. Place the unit in warm-up mode and let it run for 1 minutet
5. Place your hand above the heater plate (without touching it) to confirm an increase in the heater plate temperature. DO NOT place your hand directly on the heater plate as it will be hot. If you do not notice a temperature increase, the heater plate is not working properly.
