AirFit F10 Full Face CPAP Mask by ResMed

The ResMed AirFit F10 Full Face Mask is a lightweight and easy-to-fit CPAP mask that incorporates a minimalist design for superior comfort. The AirFit F10 is easy to adjust and comes with soft, padded wraps for gentler skin contact.

Comprising only four parts, the AirFit F10 can be disassembled easily for quick and effective cleaning. The mask's Spring Air cushion technology offers the best in both comfort and proven performance.

Lightweight and Easy to Use
The ResMed AirFit F10 Full Face Mask features a sleek and compact design that offers a reliable seal and fit. The lightweight and streamlined frame makes CPAP therapy more comfortable by reducing pressure points and mask markings. Furthermore, the AirFit F10’s intuitive four-part design makes assembly, cleaning, and reassembly quick and easy.

The AirFit F10 is easy to fit, as well. The lower headgear straps attach easily to the mask via the hooks on the frame. So, simply loop the bottom two headgear straps onto the hooks on the frame to secure the mask.

No Forehead Support
Unlike some other traditional full-face masks, the AirFit F10 does not come with a forehead support or any straps around the forehead. The absence of the forehead support prevents your view from being obstructed so that you can read or watch TV in bed.

The lack of bulky forehead support also helps negate feelings of claustrophobia, making the AirFit F10 Full Face Mask a good choice for first-time CPAP users.

Spring Air Cushion Technology
The dual-wall AirFit F10 cushion features Spring Air technology which distributes pressure evenly across the face for an effective seal. The inner wall of the dual-wall cushion conforms to the face to enhance the mask seal while the outer wall provides stability.

Furthermore, the dual-wall cushion inflates while you breathe, giving you an active seal that moves with you to prevent leaks. The AirFit F10 cushion can be replaced to extend the life of the mask.

SoftEdge Headgear
The AirFit F10 headgear is made of light, flexible, and breathable material for superior comfort. The headgear’s rounded and seamless edges prevent strap marks, and it can be adjusted at both the upper and lower frame attachment points for optimum fit.

Quiet Ventilation
ResMed designed the AirFit F10 with a circular ventilation port composed of a number of holes near the mask's elbow. The holes are spread out and angled in such a way that the circular diffused venting gently directs exhaled air away from you and your partner, facilitating a quiet night's sleep.

Reviewer’s Tip:

The AirFit F10 Full Face Mask comes with soft wraps that can be attached to the sides of the frame. The wraps provide extra padding and are ideal for CPAP users who enjoy sleeping on their side.

Frame/Cushion Sizing Compatibility

Mask frame size XS/S is compatible with XS and S cushions. Mask frame size M/L is compatible with M and L cushions.

FAQ

Does the AirFit F10 have a version specifically for women?
Yes, ResMed offers a "For Her" version of the AirFit F10 that features a smaller headgear and cushions in sizes extra small, small and medium. You can find the ResMed AirFit F10 For Her Full Face Mask here .

Do I have to purchase the soft wraps separately?
No, the soft wraps come with the mask.

How many parts does the AirFit F10 have?
The ResMed AirFit F10 Full Face Mask comes with just four easily removable and attachable parts for quick and easy cleaning and maintenance.

How do the AirFit F10 and the AirFit F20 full face masks compare?
Both the AirFit F10 and the AirFit F20 provide an open field of vision, have similarly shaped frames, and are designed for comfort.

However, the AirFit F10 Full Face Mask is a bit longer and wider than the AirFit F20 Full Face Mask. Furthermore, the AirFit F10 is a bit louder than the F20 which features ResMed’s newer QuietAir vent technology.

That said, unlike the AirFit F20, the AirFit F10 does not use magnetic clips to attach the headgear to the frame, making it a better choice for users with active medical implants.

What machines are compatible with the AirFit F10?
The AirFit F10 Full Face Mask is compatible with all CPAP machines with the exception of the ResMed AirMini Auto Travel CPAP.

Weekly cleaning: headgear, soft sleeves (if using)
Daily cleaning: frame, cushion, elbow

  1. Disassemble the mask.
  2. Soak the mask parts in warm water with mild soap. Avoid soaking for more than 10 minutes.
  3. Scrub the vent holes on the elbow with a soft bristle brush.
  4. Rinse all parts thoroughly under running water, squeezing out excess water from the headgear.
  5. Lay parts out to air dry away from direct sunlight.
To maintain the best fit and seal for your CPAP therapy, we recommend replacing the entire mask, including the headgear and frame, every 6 months.

The silicone cushion, however, may need to be replaced more frequently, typically every 2 to 3 months. Silicone naturally softens over time, which can affect its ability to create a good seal.
  1. Gently pull the mask away from your face and then release it, allowing the cushion seal to inflate and settle comfortably around your nose and mouth.
  2. Make sure to clean both your mask cushion and your face, as facial oils can interfere with the seal.
  3. Ensure you're wearing your AirFit F10 mask according to the fitting instructions in the user guide. The way you put on the mask significantly impacts the seal.
  4. Adjust your headgear as necessary.
  5. Try a larger or smaller cushion or headgear size.
  6. Replace any worn out mask parts.

If your CPAP mask still leaks after following all those troubleshooting steps, a different mask style may be a better option. Feel free to contact RespShop for assistance in choosing a different mask

Q. I received a new Airfit f10 to try instead of my Air Pillow mask but the connection at the end of the elbow is larger than the white flex tube on my ResMed air pillows? Do I need and adapter to reduce the diameter and fit on the end of that hose?
A. The short tube belongs only to the P10. It does not work with the F10. Connect you 6ft Cpap tubing directly to the F10 elbow.
Q. Looking for quattroair/airfitf10 mask and cushion med.

Subject: Solid mask
I've used this mask for a good amount of time now, occasionally ordering a new one when everything gets too worn. It's served me very well and I've slept well for many years. Would recommend, even if it's not the newest or flashiest model.

This mask has been my staple for a few years now, it’s definitely an older model. However, it still holds up well and I haven’t had a reason to swap. I do make sure to order new cushions intermittently to maintain a fit but otherwise I haven’t had to change anything. I do have two slight complaints about the mask that weren’t a problem for me, but could be a problem for others.

The good: The harness is lightweight, the material is soft and breathable so it feels comfortable sitting on my head. Plenty of adjustment points so it wasn’t any issue finding a good fit. More importantly, the cushion is large and supple. It definitely covers a good portion of the face but I think that helps to spread the force out over a greater surface area. The manufacturer says they use “Spring Air” technology to help get a good seal. I can’t attest to how much of that is real science but I definitely do get a good seal from the cushion. Overall, a lot of strengths in all the right areas.

The bad: Only two short notes. One, the upper check straps are made of a silicone rather than fabric. It doesn’t bother me but I imagine some users might find it uncomfortable. Two, as mentioned, the cushion is very large and sits very high on the nose. For any glasses users, this means your glasses sit very high which could be an issue for bifocal or trifocal users.

All in all, the two complaints I had are fairly situational. For me, they weren’t an issue at all. As such, I have no qualms giving the F10 full marks.

This mask was a replacement for the same model. As usual, it took awhile to get the headgear properly adjusted, but now the mask works great! Shipping was lightning fast and arrived BEFORE the promised delivery date!

I started using this mask 10 days ago. Its comfortable, fits well and is easy to take on and off quickly in the dark. You can tell its well made. I can lie on my side just about if I position the pillow correctly. The only issue is that at the top end of my pressure which can be quite high the mask can leak. But that also might also have something to do with the shape of my face. But under 14cm its a really great mask. I would recommend.

Finally a mask that I keep on all night. I love the fact that there is nothing infront of my eyes, it's pretty light and no leaks.

I bought the Respironics Fullife a couple of months ago as that one was cheaper but I have never managed to get that to work properly, first it leaked everywhere, then I figured out I had attached it wrongly to the frame but still, it can begin to leak just about whenever during the night.

If you are choosing between the two, pick this one as the whole construction is so much better with less chance of leaks.

My only question I have is why does the nasal one have the magnetic clips but this one doesnt? I use full face masks, and this one is actually great compared to a lot I have tried, but I noticed the nasal has the magnet clips and the full face doesnt? Either way it doesnt affect my rating, this is my favorite full face mask so I will give it the full 5 stars. Just weird for resmed to design two at the same time and not give them the exact same features.

Thanks,

Roger

I will immediately disclaim that I upgraded to an AirFit F20 recently, and no longer use this F10. However, the F10 was my mask for multiple years so I felt I would give it it’s credit. There is really only one complaint I have about the F10, hence the 4 stars instead of 5.

For starters, the mask is comfortable. The headgear is light and supple, I didn’t have any pressure or slippage issues in all my years using it, provided I spent some time making sure the straps were adjusted perfectly. There is no adjustment for the strap across the top of your head, so there’s actually two frame sizes for different width/size of heads. Be sure to check the right size for you so that you can get the ideal fit.

The cushion is great too, it seals up well when you turn your machine on, provided you don’t overtighten the mask. That’s a very important aspect. No red line issues to speak of and no leakage issues overall. My sleep reports always came up clean. There are ventilation holes around the mask too which help diffuse the air and lower the noise output, which I can back up as working. Also, the hose elbow has a quick release mechanism so it’s very easy to get up and disconnect at night.

As I mentioned, there was one complaint I had with the F10 which is actually why I upgraded to the F20. On pretty much every new mask, the straps have some kind of quick release mechanism. This lets you easily take the mask off without disturbing your strap tightness. The F10 does not have this which means you have to retighten your straps after taking it off. I put a mark on my straps to help remember the correct setting, but it’s not the ideal solution. The F20 fixes with this with magnetic clips but setting this issue aside, the F10 is still a great mask.

This may be the perfect mask for some people.

But, it is not for me. It does not comfortably fit my face.

However, because its design is pretty good, I can't give it a low rating. Just be aware that it's possible it won't fit your face either.

Over the years I have tried 6 ResMed masks. My favorite is the Quattro Fx. I was trying to switch to a better one as on my side I sometimes break the seal and then I wake up with a dry mouth. The AirFit does seem to seal better but I rarely use it as it leaves a bad impression on the side of the bridge of my nose. I have even had skin breakdown to the point where I had to use my nasal pillows for a few days to allow the skin to heal. I feel that the edge of this mask is less pliable then the Quattro Fx so if you are a side sleeper it may push hard on the side of the nose(bony part) even with a CPAP pillow that has a cutout to accommodate the mask. All that said the cushion has a different texture than the Quattros and does seem to seal better.
I find the strap attachment inferior to the Quattro. This one does not have a clip and you have to slide the loop of the strap on a post on the mask. This is a matter of personal preference though.
Piece of advice, if you are having trouble with a mask that used to work better, consider replacing the cushion. The recommended interval is 3 months but depending on pressure and cleaning agents used you may get several extra months out of it.
Another issues the headstrap: if it gets stretched and looses its elasticity it may give you a headache (back of the head and neck), replacing the strap will fix the problem.

Just recently purchased my Resmed Airfit F10 and ive had restful night cant complain. Headgear is very soft and never bother my head when I have it on. It is also easy to take apart for cleaning. Mask has no forehead support that would block my view if I decide to watch or read during my therapy. Very soft and never leave marks on my face.

This mask has a good design and feels soft on my face. My problem is with leaking. I cannot get through the night without the mask leaking and waking up. The silicone is soft and comfortable but just doesn't seal on my face. I am in the minority with my opinion, but that has been my experience with this mask.

I have purchased this to try. I normally use the FX and also have the Resmed Air. This is obviously a modification of the Air. I tried it last night, but thought it a bit noisy and a bit too rigid, but time will tell

Subject: Mask fit
I switched over to this mask from a FP Votera and I'm sorry I did. The mask is shaped differently as is the support system. Because of this the fit isn't as good and the Quattro moves around and leaks air, drying my eyes. I'll be ordering another Votera soon.F10

Sorry to hear the F10 did not work for you. We do have a mask assurance program. Give us a call and we will be happy to assist you. 866-936-3754

I am primarily a side sleeper, and I feel this mask does not work well for that sleep position - especially if you move a lot in your sleep. I can fall asleep with the pillow carefully positioned, but as the night wore on I experienced a lot of leak issues. It also was not manageable for me when wearing glasses to read/watch TV before sleeping. The glasses sit very high on your nose because of the mask, which might work with single vision, but not bi or trifocals. I find the headgear needed to be very tight to maintain a decent seal which is not comfortable, and leaves terrible strap marks in the morning. I also had an ongoing problem with the F10 leakage in my case being primarily from the top of the mask, meaning a choice between being so tight the bridge of my nose was constantly sore, or sore, dry eyes in the morning from having air blown against them all night.

I was not happy with this mask, after a year of trying to make it work I switched to the AirFit 30. I find it to be a much better mask for side sleeping.
