Respironics DreamStation CPAP Pro with Humidifier

The DreamStation CPAP Pro is smaller and lighter than its predecessor, the System One REMstar Pro 460. In terms of looks, the main color of the machine is now white, and it is equipped with a color LCD Screen and light sensor on top. It has built-in Bluetooth to transfer your data via wireless to your healthcare provider or insurance company. Respironics made the menu navigation simpler with the control knob and buttons. The Pro provides the comfort and technological advancements to ensure a results-driven therapy session paired with the personalization you need. This machine comes with a humidifier and the option with or without heated tubing (the option without the humidifier is here ). It is an excellent choice to use as a travel machine.

Comfort Technologies
C-Flex Plus includes flow-based pressure relief at the beginning of exhalation like the original C-Flex. However, C-Flex Plus also incorporates A-Flex technology which softens the pressure transition that occurs from inhalation to exhalation. This ensures a far more comfortable experience in fixed-CPAP mode. C-Flex Plus includes 3 different transition settings which can be personalized to suit your needs.

Smart Technologies
The DreamStation Pro offers CPAP Mode - for fixed pressure with no changes or adjustments needed, and CPAP-Check (C-Check) Mode – delivers CPAP therapy while automatically adjusting the pressure level to meet user needs every 30 hours to give optimal therapy pressure. EZ-Start – reduces the therapy pressure setting for the first few days of operation and gradually increases this setting until the prescribed pressure is reached.

Resistance Control
Resistance Control Technology was designed to maintain optimal pressure for any mask that is used with the DreamStation Pro. All Respironics CPAP masks include a numbering system that is based on variable resistance characteristics, which enables the DreamStation to compensate for different mask types. The result is a persistent and consistent pressure flow no matter what mask is used.

Humidity Control and Heated Tubing (OPTIONAL)
The DreamStation Pro brings excellent humidity control with advanced technology that analyzes ambient temperature and airflow. The DreamStation is capable of automatically adjusting the humidity in your mask to match your preselected humidity level. The heating tube actively works to reduce rainout and automatically adjusts the humidity in your mask, reducing discomfort and increasing the effectiveness of your therapy. The 22/15 mm (non-heated) tube or the 15 mm heated tube is compatible with the DreamStation Humidifier. The Humidifier can be preheated 30 minutes prior to your therapy with a touch of a button.

Built-in Bluetooth Wireless Technology
You can pair the DreamStation Pro to a mobile device that has the DreamMapper app installed. DreamMapper is a mobile and web-based system designed to help users enhance their sleep therapy experience. Note: The DreamStation can only be paired to one mobile device – Smartphone, tablet, etc. If you have the SleepMapper app on your device it will change to the DreamMapper app.

Steps for pairing the DreamStation to your Smartphone or Tablet

  1. Bluetooth setting will be enabled on your mobile device.
  2. "PR BT XXXX" will appear on the Bluetooth screen of your DreamStation CPAP device; (XXXX will be the last four digits of the serial number of your DreamStation)
  3. Begin pairing from your mobile device with the DreamStation powered up and the blower turned off.
  4. When your mobile device is in range of the DreamStation CPAP, one of the following applies:
    1. Your mobile device has Secure Simple Pairing (SSP).
    2. Your mobile device does not support Bluetooth SSP.
  5. Use the dial knob to choose "yes" or "no". Once "yes" is chosen, the DreamStation device will acknowledge the passkey.
  6. When your mobile device acknowledges the pairing request, both your mobile device and the DreamStation CPAP will be paired and ready to connect using DreamMapper .

FAQ

How often do I need to change my filters?
Filters are a critical part of your CPAP therapy and need to be cleaned routinely. It is recommended that disposable filters are replaced every 6 to 12 weeks. On the other hand, cleanable filters should be washed weekly and replaced every 6 months. Disposable and reusable filters are both available for purchase on our website.

Why is the mask alert feature not working?
Make sure the mask alert feature is set to ON. Be aware that certain masks will not work with this feature; however, mask alerts should not affect the performance of the DreamStation Pro.

Does the DreamStation come with a different power supply?
The DreamStation comes with a standard 80W power supply.

Q. i don't have a prescription, doctor doesn't accept medicaid any longer, my machine stopped pumping air, i simply want to get new one, how do i do it?
A. We will need the prescription to set it up to the correct pressure setting. Is there any way to have your physician send you your old prescription?
Q. What is the best cleaning device for this machine?
A. Hi, The best bet for cleaning any CPAP is just soap and water. Handwashing your mask, hose, and water chamber is crucial. If you're looking to disinfect on top of the hand washing, I recommend either the lumin or the soclean.
Q. I have tubing from my previous CPAP machine. Isn't the tubing universal?
A. Tubing is generally universal, yes. The only exception is heated tubing, which is specific to each machine or manufacturer. Keep in mind tubing needs to be replaced on regular basis and thus it's always good to have a back up.
Q. Are these new machines? Or used?

A. 1. Yes, they can.

2. These are new machines, however they are not auto-titrating machines but manual fixed pressure machines, which tend to be a bit cheaper. Indeed, Phillips recently released the DreamStation 2 which is the new generation in their flagship PAP devices.
Q. How may Amps and watts does the machine draw in a 8 hour period? I need the information to ensure I have enough battery in my RV.
A. 100-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz, 2.0- 1.0 A

The power supply is rated at 80 watts. So you would want to multiply it by the hours of use and you should have total watts used per night. So average I would say 640-800 watts in an 8 hours period. This would be with the humidifier and tube temperature ON. If you turn the Humidifier off or remove it completely, and turn the heated tube off, you will draw much less power.

Subject: My humidifier air gets too hot
I don't have any problems with my machine but I wear the mask and my pressure is set at 14, it was 16 but the doctor lowered it because it was affecting my eyes it was so strong. My only problem is I wake up sweaty at the back of my head and neck and the air gets too warm for me. How do I turn the air from the water to keep it cool?? If there's water left in the chamber in the morning, it is usually warm to hot. I'm hot natured and this is making me uncomfortable. Otherwise I love my machine and it is very quiet.. Thank you.

This machine replaced a 12 year old Repironics System One.
The old unit was OK, and seemed pretty quiet, until I started using the Dream Station, WOW!
This new machine is so quiet, I honestly can’t hear it running!
And the programming is super easy.
I’ve read some have dry mouth using a CPAP machine, I’ve had that issue myself, especially during the winter.
When that happens, I use Oracoat XyliMelts, they’re a real life saver!

Love my new CPAP model DSX500H11 philips respironics dream station auto machine with humidifier. And great price. It gives you all your information at your fingertips. I had my old Philips machine for around 18 years and did it’s job.,the only reason I replaced it was because the humidifier stopped working. The company respshop was great to work with and even called me so they could set up the pressure. But found it very easy to get into settings and set it up if need. But if need help with settings you can always go to UTube and it will show you step by set how to maneuver through the settings.

I’ve had my machine for 3 years and have not had one issue. I didn’t like the face mask so I use the nose piece. Also keeps me from being a mouth breather. The reservoir works well for me and I set it on 2. I keep my machine low to the floor so that the humidity doesn’t build up in my nose piece. Very easy to maintain and keep clean. It has been a game changer for me and my wife loves it too(no more snoring).

I received my Dream Machine in April of 2016. It’s flawless. I had a much bigger one that worked also. But the upgrade was game changing. It used to be am i going to do this again when it came to sleeping...to alright then let’s do this type of mentality. Big improvement over my old Respironics System One. Very quiet. Also it distributes the moisture very well and uses much less water to get the same or better effect. I got the heated tube, Not sure if it helps or not but the whole package works very well.

I am starting to feel more comfortable after 30 nites, I still have a lot of questions. I started getting nose bleeds after the first week.. So I finally called. And they told me to turn the humidifier up @ll way..And turn the air pressure up on the machine. I guess we will see.

I can only give my machine two stars for speedy arrival... Unfortunately, my experience with the machine has been horrible. I can only sleep for 3 to 4 hours if that long. I wake up with an EXTREMELY dry mouth. It so bad it makes me feel like I am suffocating. Upon the arrival of my machine, it was already set to 4 humidity and then after the first three days of dry mouth moved it up to the highest setting which is 5 and it was worse. I got up researched why and could not find a viable solution to stopping my mouth from being so dry. If anyone has any suggestions I am all for it but right now I am not happy with my machine because I had to stop using it because it was causing my mouth and teeth to hurt. PLEASE HELP!!!! Cause I know there has to be a solution I have been without my machine for so long and now that I finally got it I still can't use it...

Just got the machine and it's humming. It hums all night. My husband got one as well, and it hums also. What's that about?

The unit is a very poor design with the tube coming of the back and will swing completely to the back
The humidifier is not user friendly
The tank drops in a rack that is hard to open
And cleaning the humidifier is a pain you have to take apart to properly clean

I just bought product and I received a letter that the product defective and respshop.com won’t refund or replace it . I told them I pay the difference if other product higher price all I was told no warranty so they just rob you and leave you cold dry

Not a good machine. Built very cheaply. Plastic hinges, plastic connectors, plastic clasps. Poor sleep quality wit the Respironics . Was mis lead about what I was buying. Bought over phone due to covid . Resmed is much better. I had a resmed before and was very happy .Make sure you see one before you buy one. Noisy . The cpap shop would not take it back or exchange it.

Junk! Our machine is 18 months old, programed as a bipap and with settings 12/5, and the stupid thing is currently stuck on the 5, and the company says its the mask. So I purchased a new one, identical to his initial set up, and no change. So JUNK! JUNK! AND MORE JUNK! STAY AWAY FROM THIS JUNK! And the manufacturer wont help
